On a fine summer’s day, a good field of ‘wannabe’ golfers lined up for a combined Irish Stableford sponsored by Jason Lawer and Jack Parker. Thank you, Jason, and Jack. A splendid day was on hand for the final round of the Foundation Cup at the Stanthorpe Golf Club. This is a stroke competition played over two weeks. A strong field of 58 golfers set out on Saturday 3rd to compete in the first event for 2026 which was the January Monthly Medal and the 1st Round of the Foundation Cup in warm and what turned out to be wet conditions. Saturday 25th and Sunday the 26th of October saw big fields of golfers from as far away as Boyne Island, Emu Park, Redcliffe, Wantima, Beerwah and Windaroo Lakes as well as golfers from all the local courses from Toowoomba to Tenterfield compete in the Stanthorpe Open.
