A strong field of golfers played in the Monthly Medal on Saturday the 10th of October. A rain front caused a delay to the start for the afternoon players, but when it passed the sun came out and it turned out to be a beautiful afternoon. The course is still quite dry with lots of run so good scoring was expected.

The competition was generously sponsored by Purse House Rural Stanthorpe and we

thank them for their sponsorship.

The Men’s winner with an excellent score of 67 nett was Brent Irwin with Alan Kerr coming in with a great 68 nett to be the well-deserved runner up. Raymond Adams played some excellent golf to win the best gross score with a 2 over par 74 while Phil Mihulka shows off his putting skills with only 28 putts. Men’s pin shots went to Rino Piovesan on 3, Santo Cavallaro on 12 and Ken Knight on 17.

Men’s approaches were won by Brendon Barker (1/10), Gary Kirby (5/14) and Darrell Boekholt (9/18).

The Ladies Monthly Medal for October was won on a countback by Lynette Ludlow who came in with a solid 76 nett. In second place was Neta Thouard while Lorraine Evans and Trish Fittock also had 76 nett. Best gross score winner was Lisa Stuart with 90 while Lynette had a good day with the putter

with only 31 putts. Ladies Pin shots were won by Lisa Stuart on the 3rd and Approach shot winners were Nikki Waterworth on 2/11 and Lisa Stuart on 7/16.
