Low markers held the advantage on the field in last week’s stableford event. The fairways have responded to the rain and the grass growth has stopped a lot of the run that assisted scoring. Matt Waterworth topped the list with 37 points and Brendan Barker was one point back on 36 to claim runner up. Both players are ‘A’ graders and known to hit the ball a long way.

In a close finish, the ladies’ event was won by Fiona Kelly with 30 points for the round, runner up to Helen Jones on 29 points.

Sponsor for the day’s competition was our local travel agency, Helloworld, and the club thanks them for their continued sponsorship.

Alan Kerr is back in the accuracy event by claiming the pin shot at 3. Scott Constable held the pin at 12 and Max Hunter collected at 17. Nikki Waterworth claimed the ladies pin at 3, Lorraine Evans had best approach at 12 and Kay Webb had best approach at 17. The pro-pins at 1/10, 5/14 and 9/18 all went to Brendan Barker. The birdies’ nest at 10 was claimed by the day’s winner, Matt Waterworth.

In the men’s rundown, a ball was presented to Tod Beckett (33), Keith Green (33) and Keith Jones (33). Kay Webb (28) and Lorraine Evans (25) were in the run down for the ladies.

Next Saturday is a medley 4BBB stableford sponsored by Eric and Shaneen McLellan. There will be a shot gun start at 11.45 am with players being checked in at least 20 minutes before to allow the starter to determine tee positions.
