Stanthorpe golfers played the last Monthly Medal for the year sponsored by Andersens Carpets.

The men’s winner was young Matt Burgess with a net 69. Matt plays off a handicap of 8 and beat his Dad Dave a 4 marker off the stick. Matt reckons this will become a regular happening in the future. Also Matt’s young brother Andrew off 22 had a better nett score than Dad. Obviously some robust conversation in the Burgess household.

Men’s runner up was Richard Reardon with a nett 71. Richard also had the least number of putts.

Best gross score was recorded by Scott Constable.

A ball in the rundown went to Andrew Burgess, Ivan Juriss and Barry Hughes

The ladies monthly medal resulted in 3 players tied on nett 79 with Vice Captain Nikki Waterworth beating Captain Annelle Batterham on the countback. Nikki’s score could have been better as she recorded 2 birdies but the 4th hole was very expensive although double figures was avoided. Helen Jones was the unlucky one in the countback but received a ball in the rundown.

Best gross went to Nikki and the least number of putts was won by Kay Webb.

Next week’s event is an Individual Stableford sponsored by the Stanthorpe Community Bank and the timesheet is available in the usual place.

The timesheet for the Boxing Day Classic is now open and is on the notice board in the clubhouse.
