A big field of golfers played in the May Monthly Medal which was also the first round of the Club Championships on Saturday the 9th of May. It was a perfect sunny day and with plenty of run on the course low scoring was expected. The competition was generously sponsored by the Stanthorpe Golf, and we thank the club for their sponsorship.

The Men’s winner with a pretty good score of 69 nett was Brad Silver and coming in second place with a score of 71 nett was morning player Ron Batterham. Brendon Barker had the best gross score with an excellent 74. Brad Silver also won the least putts with 26. Men’s pin shots went to Lyle Bryant on 3 and Keith Jones on 12. Men’s approaches were won by Phil Hawtin (1/10), Scott Constable (5/14) and David Reeves (9/18).

The Ladies Monthly Medal was won by Trish Fittock with a great score of 72 and runner up on a countback was Sandra Ellis on 74. Lisa Stuart won the best gross score with 91 and 3 ladies shared the least putts of 27 – Lynette Ludlow, Lisa Stuart and Trish Fittock. Ladies Pin shots went to Nikki

Waterworth on 12 and Lisa Stuart on 17. Ladies' approaches were won by Trish Fittock (2/11) and Mandy Benussi (7/16).

Congratulations to all our winners and to everyone who participated in the day. Next Saturday is a Stroke event sponsored by Dave and Lisa Stuart and the second round of the Club Championships.
