A few good days for Stanthorpe golfers last weekend with fairways beginning to dry out (until the next rainy days) and bit more run on the fairways. Saturday was a 4BBB stableford with mixed teams competing for the Peirce Trophy and members teams playing for trophies supplied by Davis and Stephen of Favero Motors. The club thanks the sponsors for the events and to Bob Peirce for travelling to Stanthorpe for the day.

Competition for the Peirce Trophy was close until Keith and Helen Jones arrived at the clubhouse and returned a score of 47 points for the win. Both players added equally to their score and both managed a 4 pointer during the game. Runner up went to the team of Margie Locke and Ron Batterham with a solid score of 42 points.

The members 4BBB resulted in a win to Max Hunter and Mick O’Brien with a score of 45 points which might have been a few points better except for a wash at the second hole. They successfully covered this with a four pointer at hole 16. Runner up was the team of junior golfers, Andy Burgess and Hamish Adam, after a count back on 42 points.

In the run down, Lisa Stuart, Alan Kerr, Rob Reeves, Mark McCosker, Santo Cavallaro and Tom Page received a voucher.

Keith Jones collected for a pin shot at 3 and the approach at 1/10. Matt Burgess collected ar 12 and Scott Constable held the pin at 17. Lisa Stuart held the ladies pin at 12, remaining pro-pins to Davis Burgess at 5/14 and Nathan Stibbard at 9/18.

During the week, the Wednesday ladies completed their mid-week championships and congratulations to the winner, Lorraine Evans.
