In a big weekend of golf, the Stanthorpe Golf Club hosted an excellent field of over 90 players in the

annual “Kilcoy Boy’s” 4BBB day on Saturday the 3 rd of May. The “Kilcoy Boy’s” have been coming to

Stanthorpe every year for well over 20 years now and their continued sponsorship is very much

appreciated. This year we also had players from Ballina, Lismore and Indooroopilly Golf Clubs and we

also thank them for their support. The group of players from Ballina and Lismore came up especially

to be part of the day as they heard that it was a big weekend of golf in Stanthorpe. Steve Bishop

from the Mobile Golf Shop set up shop in the club house and was well received. It was a pretty

ordinary day with plenty of wind making for difficult conditions but thankfully the rain mostly held

off and some great scores were returned.

The winners for the day were the team of Deb Reeves and Oscar Skerman who were visiting from

Indooroopilly with a fine score of 48 stableford points. A couple of locals, Mike Middleton and

Richard Reardon waved the Stanthorpe flag and came in second place with a very good 46 points.

Pin shots went to Ken Whyte, John Raen and Matt Waterworth on holes 3, 12 and 17 respectively.

Approach shots went to Tony Wilson (1/10), Trent Smith (5/14) and Jack Poulton (9/18). Deb Reeves

had a day out as she also won the ladies pin shots on 3, 12 and 17. Both the ladies approach shots

were won by Sue Sheaffe. Congratulations to all our winners and to everyone who took part in the

day.
