Last Saturday's stroke event resulted in a win for Keith Jones with nett

67 on his round. His winning score was punctuated by a hole in one at the 12th hole and was the difference between first and second place, two strokes. Back on nett 69 were Greg Fraser and Reno Piovesan and after the countback, Greg took runner up with Reno settling for the run down.


The ladies' event was won by Shaneen McLellan with a sub par round of nett 72. Shaneen's round was very steady with only a couple of over par holes on the round and was 5 shots clear of runner up, Nikki Waterworth on nett 77, third week in a row that Nikki has been on the ladies' podium.


Appreciation to the sponsor of the day, Max Hunter, for supplying the prizes on the day.


Pin shots were won by Len Leigh at 3, Keith Jones with his hole in one at 12 as well as closest tee shot at 17. Lyn Ludlow held the ladies' pin at 3, Helen Jones followed the standard set by Keith to have best approach at 12 and Annelle Batterham had best approach at 17. Keith also featured in the pro-pins by collecting the balls on offer at 1/10, Matt Waterworth at 5/14 and Stephen Kay at 9/18. The birdies nest at 6 was not won.


In the run down, a ball to Reno Piovesan, Darryl Boekholt, Hayden Smith, Ian Harvey and Mark McCosker. For the ladies, a ball to Kay Webb, Helen Jones and Linda Kelly.


For all members who have been checking, or not checking the programme, the men's and ladies foursomes championships are almost upon us, Sunday

8 September. The alternate shot event will be played over 27 holes and competition starts at 9.30 am after Sporters. The time sheet has been posted at the club house so get partners arranged and names on the list.


Next Saturday is the Howard & Sons golf day, being the last Saturday in the month, a medley 4BBB stableford. Tee off from 11.45 am with a shot gun start and registration by 11.25 am to give the starter plenty of time to arrange starting positions on the field. The time sheet is also on the board at the club house.
