Stanthorpe golfers were again at the mercy of the weather last weekend with heavy rain falling and topping up the water on the fairways. With rain continuing on Saturday morning, most players decided to stay indoors in the warm.

The day’s competition was cancelled as it was unclear as to how far any competition would advance. The day’s event was cancelled and the sponsor for the day, Reece Plumbing, has been put on hold and the event will be played at a later date.

The forecast will again be of interest with further falls expected during the week. If it does gat better, next Saturday’s competition will be the July monthly medal and putting competition, an individual stroke event sponsored by club member, Michael O’Brien.

Hopefully a better and drier day will be greeted for next weekend.
