Last Saturday’s single stableford event resulted in a win for Ian Harvey after he returned a score of 41 points for the round. His front nine gave him 21 points on the card and it looked like he was going to better it on the back nine but his last hole was a one pointer for 20. Andrew Burgess played in an early time slot and posted a score of 40 points for the rest to chase. Andrew came out one point short but did secure runner up.

Margie Locke had the best score for the ladies, 37 points for the round. A very good back nine of 21 points sealed the win. Kay Webb with 34 points collected runner up prize.

The day was sponsored by club member, Lorraine Evans, and we thank her for putting up the prizes for the day.

Men’s winner, Ian Harvey, also collected the pin shot at 3 and the pro-pin at 5/14. Alan Kerr held the pin shot at 12 and Mark Hendry collected 17. Darryl Boekholt took the balls for the 9/18 pro-pin. Lyn Ludlow collected the ladies approach at 17 and Sandra Morris recorded her first competition birdie after holing out for two at the 12th hole, also to collect the balls for the best approach.

In the run down, a ball to Scott Constable, Angelo Maugeri, Rino Piovesan and Sandra Morris.

Next weekend is the club’s Open event, two days of competition. Sponsors for the weekend are Maddies Gift Gallery in Stanthorpe and City Golf Club who support clubs throughout the Darling Downs district.

Saturday is a medley 4BBB stableford with two times scheduled for a shot gun start, 6.45 am. for the early birds and the later time of 11.45 am for the afternoon session. Players are requested to register 20 minutes prior to tee time to give the starter time to allocate tee positions.

Sunday’s Open is a stroke event for men and stableford for ladies. The time sheet is full for this day and players should check their tee time and ensure they are in attendance 20 minutes prior to tee time.
