Last Saturday’s single stableford event attracted another excellent field played for trophies sponsored by Peter Hines. Thanks to Peter who has been a long term sponsor of this event at the club.

Playing off a handicap of 1, Scott Constable returned a card one under par, gross 71 for the 18 holes which resulted in a score of 38 points on the day which was the winning score. Mark Baker lasted a three way count back to be runner up on 37 points. Others on 37, Ian Henderson and Kev Rowling settled for the run down. Angelo Maugeri and Mark Hendry also collected in the run down with scores of 36 points.

The ladies event was also a close affair with Neta Thouard recording best score of 37 points for the win. Runner up was Lorraine Evans, on point back on 36 points. In the ladies run down, Fiona Kelly with 35 points and Margie Locke on 32 points were successful.

Some changes were in place for last Saturday’s event with flag sticks on the greens making it easier to see where the pin was located. Bunkers also were back in play, but no rakes. Again, there were clear and specific rules which were in place covering these situations and players are congratulated for observing these rules and following the correct procedures.

Next Saturday is an individual stableford with time sheets and bookings to be done in the usual format. Either visit the club, phone or e-mail and make sure you have a time slot booked.
