A big field of golfers set out to compete in the David Townsend Memorial 4BBB event on Saturday the 31st of January in fine but hot conditions. The course is in great condition considering how dry it has been lately with some visitors commenting how excellent the greens are. The event was generously sponsored by club member Max Hunter who described David as a long-term member and a “gentleman” golfer who is missed around the course. The days winners with an excellent score of 48 points were David Reeves and Jarrod Irwin. These guys are playing some great golf at the moment, and their score included 5 birdies which is pretty impressive. Coming in second place with a very good 47 points was Jack Parker and Lisa Stuart.

Men’s pin shots went to Phil Mihulka on 3, Michael O’Brien on 12 and Jason Bacon on 17 who I believe hit a 7 iron onto the green! Some great approaches were won by Jarrod Irwin (1/10), Scott Constable (5/14) and Alan Bignell on (9/18).

Ladies pin shots went to Filomena Silver on 12 and Lisa Stuart on 17. Approach shots were collected by Nikki Waterworth (1/10) and Trish Fittock (7/16).
