A strong field of 48 golfers set out to compete in the December Monthly event on Saturday the 6th of December in hot conditions. The course is in excellent condition, and this showed in the scoring which was equally good. The event was generously sponsored by members Santo Cavallaro and Eric Ree and we thank them for their generous support. The men’s winner was young gun Jack Parker who won with a 68 nett on a countback from the incredibly well moustached Johnny Green who is back from the central Queensland cane fields. Matt Waterworth won the best gross score with an excellent 1 under par 71 and the least putts. Men’s pin shots went to Mark Hendry on 3, Greg Fraser on 12 and Barry Jones on 17. Some great approaches were won by Brendon Barker (1/10), Kev Rowling (5/14) and Rino Piosevan on (9/18).

In the Ladies event first place went to Nikki Waterworth with an excellent 68 nett followed by Helen Jones with 76 nett. Nikki had a good day also winning the best gross score (88), the least putts and winning pin shots on 12, 17 and 2/11 while Linda Kelly picked up the approach shot on 7/16.

Congratulations to all our winners and to everyone who participated in the day. Next weekend is a Single Stableford event sponsored by Aqua Rural.

Congratulations to our “Golfer of the Year” winners who were presented their awards at our recent Christmas party. The men’s winner was Matt Waterworth, and the Ladies winner was Lisa Stuart.

Both of these members had a stellar year playing some excellent golf and supporting the club every week.
