It was a cold and overcast day when 55 brave souls ventured out on to the Stanthorpe golf course to battle it out in a stroke event. Although the sun tried hard to show itself it remained mostly cloudy and cold the whole day but at least it wasn’t windy. The event was generously sponsored by Peter Patti Painting, and we thank Peter for his support. The course was playing fairly long, but the greens are getting fast and there was a fair bit of knee trembling on some of the greens where the pins were placed down the front as this writer can attest to. However, the conditions didn’t deter young gun Jack Parker who came in with a great score of 70 nett to take home the win. He didn’t have it all his own way as Jack got home in a count back from big hitting Rick Goodrich. Well done to you both.

Men’s pin shots went to Tod Beckett on 3, Keith Jones on 12 and Brad Silver on 17. Approach shots were won by Matt Waterworth (1/10 and 9/18), and Scott Constable (5/14).

The ladies' event was won by frequent visitor from the Gailes golf club Laraine Gurnett with a 76 nett followed by Deb Joyce, who came in second on a count back from ladies' captain Lisa Stuart, with a 78 nett. Ladies pin shots were won by Helen Jones on 3, Neta Thouard on 12 and Lisa Stuart on 17.

Approach shots were collected by Filomena Silver and Trish Fittock on 2/11 and 7/16 respectively.
