The regular Writer of these ripping results has returned … from a month away. And he’s returned as a first time Grandfather (cheers all round please). On the subject of Grandfathers, the Day’s Play (4BBB) was sponsored by the ageing gracefully Grandfather Max Hunter. Thank you, Max., And his sponsorship was in honour of and memory of one whom I’m sure was grandfather par excellence, David Townsend. Max shared a number of memories of the nature’s gentleman that David was. Oh, did I mention Grandfathers? Because there are quite a few around the club these days. The picture attached is of the latest Grandfather with the newest Junior Golfer. Regrettably, all the grandfathers were ‘out golfed’ by the ‘wannabe’ Grandfathers. Congratulations to Matt Macarthur and Rick Goodrich on a breath taking 49 Stableford points. Runner’s up, on a count back from two Grandfathers, were Tod Beckett and Barry Jones on 46 points.Pin shots went to Barry Hughes, Alan Kerr and Matt Waterworth, while approach shots went to Jacob Steele, Darrell Boekholt and Greg Fraser. Ladies Pins and Approach went to Lorraine Evans and Trish Fittock. Finally, one other quite remarkable event happened. Some call it skill while others call it … something else, rooky golfer Deb Joyce chipped in, or as the Ladies apparently say, ‘got a gobbler.
The Membership draw is now at $230.

Showing the David Townsend Memorial Day Trophy are Club Captain Brad Silver and Sponsor Max Hunter. Thanks for a fabulous day - very well supported by Members and Visitors!
Member Viv Thouard and Wantima visitor Jimmy Roach remember David Townsend whiling waiting at David’s memorial seat to play in the 4BBB.
