A good field of 45 golfers set out to compete in a Single Stroke event on Saturday 19th July. The weather turned it on again and a beautiful sunny day was enjoyed by all. The course is in excellent condition at the moment although there is not a lot of run and so the course is playing quite long.

Quick greens are also causing some challenges and headaches. The event was generously sponsored by our green keeper Bill Pyne we thank him for his sponsorship. The conditions did suit some players with the experienced battler Keith Jones winning on a countback from runner-up Matt Waterworth –both players returning excellent scores of 71 nett. Matt was 2 over par off the stick which was a great round of golf. Well done to Keith and Matt.

Men’s pin shots went to Rino Piovesan on 3 and Chook Hendry on 17. No one managed to claim the pin shot on 12. Approach shots were won by Matt Waterworth (1/10, 5/14) and Jarrod Irwin (9/18).

The conditions must have also suited Filomena Silver who won the ladies stroke with a great score of 74 nett followed by Nikki Waterworth with a score of 77 nett. Filomena also claimed the ladies pinshot on 17 and approach shots were collected by Lynette Ludlow and Linda Kelly on 2/11 and 7/16 respectively.

Congratulations to all our winners and to everyone who took part in the day. Next week’s event is a 2 ball Ambrose with a 12pm shotgun start sponsored by Australian Vinegar.
