With Saturday the 14th of February being Valentines Day one would think that it would be a good reason to stay home in the warmth particularly on a wet, cold and blustery day such as we had.

But no…. a dedicated bunch of diehards braved the Scottish-like conditions and forged ahead onto the Stanthorpe Golf course playing in a Single Stroke event. The event was generously sponsored by long time members Matt and Nikki Waterworth, and we thank them for their sponsorship.

The men’s winner was big hitting Rick Goodrich who won on a countback with 69 from Lachlan Hendry. Men’s pin shots went to Mark Hendry on 3, Bruce Green on 12 and Brendan McMillan on 17. Some great approaches were won by Alan Walker (1/10 & 5/14) and Tod Beckett on (9/18).

Ladies' winner was Sandra Ellis with a nett score of 77 and runner-up was Helen Jones. Ladies pin shots went to visitor from Mt Warren Park GC Amara Aston on 3, Helen Jones on 12 and Filomena Silver on 17. Approach shots were collected by Filomena Silver (2/11) and Helen Jones (7/16).
