Golf Report Sunday 11 August.
Bendigo Bank Brilliance. Any day is a great day for golf but last Sunday had an added bonus – it was the Bendigo Bank Bonus. The Stanthorpe Branch of the Bendigo Bank is locally owned and generously feeds hundreds of thousands of dollars back into the local community. Stanthorpians can rightly say that the Bendigo Bank is OUR bank. The club’s vice-captain introduced the presentation with his own reflection on the helpfulness of the staff at the Bendigo Bank. The staff are patient, pleasant and polite and go the extra mile in customer satisfaction. Well done Bendigo Bank Team.
The presentation for the ‘men’s and ladies’ foursomes’ was by one of the Bendigo Bank directors, Mr Todd Sutherland. It is noteworthy to mention that Todd is also a handy golfer himself. Todd firstly presented the lady winners; Nikki Waterworth and Lynette Ludlow. Well done ladies. Nikki mentioned in receiving the trophy that it was a hard-fought contest.
Todd Sutherland then awarded the A Grade men’s foursomes' winners, Matt Waterworth and Mick O’Brien. Matt mentioned in receiving the award that it was a battle both against the elements and the far-flung places of the golf course. (Readers and interpret that how they like). The men’s B Grade winners came from nowhere in that they had never played a game of golf together before and so a ‘B Grade Bond was Born’ in Brendan McMillan and Keith Jones. Well done.
Finally, the overall net winners of the day were Todd Beckett and Michael Thompson. Michael joined the other winners in expressing his gratitude for the sponsorship and good work of the Bendigo Bank. What a Brilliant Bonus for Stanthorpe to have the Bendigo Bank.
