A strong field of 56 golfers played in the Stroke event on the 18 th of April in fine and warm

conditions. The weather is still fine and dry and there is plenty of run out on the course and this is inducive to good scoring. The competition was generously sponsored by local members Kay Webb, Linda Kelly and Lorraine Evans and we thank them for their sponsorship.

The men’s winner on the day was young gun Jack Parker with an impressive 65 nett. Runner up, also with a great score of 69 nett was Darrell Boekholt on a countback from Rod Werner. Men’s pin shots went to Ivan Juriss on 3, Brendon Barker on 12 and Randall Bergin on 17. Great approaches were won by David Reeves (1/10), Rod Werner (5/14) and Randall Bergin (9/18).

The good field of ladies had a very competitive game with Nikki Waterworth winning with an

excellent score of 68 nett. Coming in with a close second place was Sandra Ellis with a very good 69 nett. Ladies Pin shots went to Filomena Silver on 3, Lisa Stuart on 12 and Neta Thouard on 17. Lynette Ludlow had a great approach on 2/11 as did Trish Fittock on 7/16.
