Stanthorpe Golf Report Saturday 7th June 2025

June opened with a big field playing the Monthly Medal which was generously sponsored by Keith and Helen Jones. On a difficult cold and windy day and despite the course being in excellent condition no was expecting any low rounds. This proved to not be the case however as Richie Reardon came in with a marvellous round of 69 nett. Richie must have been chipping really well too as he only had 28 putts. However, this was not good enough to win the least putts prize which was shared between two great putters of the club Greg Fraser and Matt Waterworth with impressive putting of only 27 putts for the round. Second place for the medal also with a sub-par round was Mark Richards with 70 nett.

Men’s pin shots went to Rod Paye on 3, Mark Richards on 12 (who must have been close to holing out) and Peter Moll on 17. Approach shots were won by Darrell Boekholt (1/10), Rick Goodrich (5/14) and Wes Smith (9/18).

The ladies Monthly Medal was won by Lisa Stuart with a great 72 nett, closely followed by Filomena Silver with a 75 nett. Least putts were shared between Lisa Stuart, Nikki Waterworth and Sandra Ellis who all had 32 putts. Ladies pin shots were won by Sandra Ellis on 3, Filomena Silver on 12 and Lisa Stuart on 17. Approach shots were collected by Nikki Waterworth and Linda Kelly on 2/11 and 7/16 respectively.
