No competition last Saturday with rain being the order of the day. A few early time spots managed to get a round almost done, but reports are that all who went early did get wet. More importantly, the fairways, greens and tees received a good watering and hopefully the town and surrounding areas also had a good drop.
As there was no competition, there were no prizes to distribute. The sponsors for the day, Matt and Nikki Waterworth, no doubt will hold their sponsorship day back for a later date when the weather will be much kinder.
The club’s ‘Golfer of the Year’ for this year commenced on the first single event in January and will continue until the final single event in November. This year, Rossow Fuels are sponsoring the men’s event and Gracious Giving is continuing their sponsorship for the ladies.
For every single event, players receive points for where they finish in the day’s event. The higher the finish, the more points earned. For the men, 20 points is the maximum that can be earned in a single event. For the ladies, 10 points is the maximum. The least number of points that can be earned on one day is one point which will be awarded for playing in the day’s competition.
At this time of the year, all members are eligible to participate. However, to remain eligible, members must be financial for the year on the due date which is the 1st March 2020.
Next Saturday is a single stableford and sponsored by Helloworld, the local travel agency in Stanthorpe. Tee off from 11.30 am and the time sheet is on the board at the club.
