Results Sat 5 and Sun 6 Oct 2019

The final qualifiers for the Medal of Medallists were determined in last Saturday’s medal events. The men’s event was won by Bill Pyne, only after a countback gave him the narrowest win over Keith Barnett, both players finishing with nett 66. Keith settled for runner up.

The ladies’ event was also a close finish with Margie Locke on nett 74 winning the day from Neta Thouard who was one shot back on nett 75 after a countback with Madeline Jarman.

The two winners will now join with the other medal winners over the last 12 months to contest the Medal of Medallists event next month.

Thanks to club members, Ian Harvey and Rino Piovesan for sponsoring the day and supplying the trophies.

Scott Constable recorded the lowest score of 73 for the round and Mick O’Brien showed his putting ability with least number of putts, 23 for the day. Lyn Ludlow had lowest gross score of 96 for the ladies and Neta Thouard had least putts of 30 for the ladies.

Pin shots went to Matt Burgess at 3, Bill Pyne at 12 and Keith Barnett at 17. Ladies’ pins claimed by Sandra Morris at 3, Lyn Ludlow at 12 and Kay Webb at 17. Pro-pins were won by Mark McCosker at 1/10, David Reeves at 5/14 and Max Hunter at 9/18. Birdies nest at 11 was shared by Scott Constable, Mark Hendry and Casey Leotta.

The run down went to nett 68 and better for the men and nett 75 for the ladies.

On Sunday, fifteen teams turned out to contest the club’s mixed foursomes championships. Best on the day and winner was the team of Matt Waterworth and Nikki Waterworth with a score of 128 for the 27 holes. Runner up was the team of Mark and Racheal Hendry on 133.

Best nett score went to Terry Roser and Sandra Morris and runner up to Bob Watts and Lorraine Evans.

Pin shots on the day to Matt Waterworth at 3, Margie Locke at 12, Aaron Simmers at 17 and Racheal Hendry at 21.

Next Saturday, all members are invited to participate in the Heritage Bank sponsored golf day, a medley 4BBB stableford, with proceeds on the day donated to Breast Cancer Research. Special awards for best dressed and best decorated buggies. Shot gun start at 11.45 am with registration by 11.30 am.
