The first event for the 2020 year was a single stroke event and also was the first of two rounds for the Foundation Cup. Our sponsor for the day was Jason Lawer who not currently a member, was a very good junior golfer at the club and managed to bring the same talent into the senior ranks. The club thanks Jason for his continued interest in the club and hope to see him back on the fairways.

Lyle Bryant returned to good form on the day, no doubt inspired by his playing partners, to return 42 points on the day and claim first prize. One shot back was Rod Werner with nett 67.

The ladies event was won by Fiona Kelly with nett 74. Fiona played in the early morning players and her score held out for the day, Runner up went to Kay Webb with nett 76.

Michael Thompson and Brendan Barker shared the best gross score with 77 and Racheal Hendry was best ladies score of 93. Putting honours went to Rod Werner and Michael Thompson, 26 putts, for the men and Kay Webb for the ladies with 29 putts.

Lyle Bryant collected the pin shot at 3. Stephen Hooper at 12 and Scott Constable at 17. Linda Kelly collected a double for the ladies, both approaches at 12 and 17. The birdies nest was shared by Brendan Barker and Michael Thompson.

The run down went to nett 71 for the men and nett 78 for the ladies.

Next week is the second and final round for the Foundation Cup and will be a single stroke event. Sponsor for the day is Australian Vinegar, club member Ian Henderson. Tee off from the usual time of 11.30 am and the time sheet is on the board.
