Ian Harvey and Rino Piovesan provided the winning score in last Saturday’s medley 4BBB stableford event but only after the countback was used to separate them from two other teams on the same score of 46 points. Rino led the way on the front nine and scored on seven of the nine holes before Ian took over on the back nine to record scores on eight of the holes, 22 points out and 24 back.

Runners up were Sandra Morris and Angelo Maugeri, also with 46 points, the countback putting them in second place. The other team on 46 points were Kev Rowling and Rod Werner who settled for the run down.

Thanks to Howard and Sons for sponsoring the day and for the many years they have been associated with the golf club.

Pin shots went to Rino Piovesan at 3, Richard Reardon at 12 and Scott Constable at 17. Edith Stewart had best approach at 12 and Lyn Ludlow at 17. Bill Pyne collected the pro-pin at 1/10, Matt Waterworth successful at 5/14 and Eric McLellan at 9/18. Brady Morant collected the birdies nest at 6.

The event is open to all comers, golfers and non-golfers, and the nomination sheet is on the board at the club.

Next Saturday is the September monthly medal and putting competition and is sponsored by club members, Ron and Annelle Batterham. Tee off from the usual time of 11.00 am.
