Stanthorpe golfers suffered another unwelcome weather event which stopped all play on the course last Saturday. With forecasted rain on Friday night arriving, the end result being flooded fairways which were unplayable.

The day’s event was cancelled with no one wanting to attempt the course. What was supposed to be the first round of the club championships and the September monthly medal and putting competition had to be abandoned and fresh arrangements had to be made. Not the first time this year that the championships had been rescheduled.

The decision was made that the club championships will be now played over 54 holes, three rounds commencing next Saturday, then Sunday and then the next Saturday.

A new time sheet has been posted at the club for players to register for the event with play to get under way at 11.00 am for the afternoon session. All three days will be an individual stroke round with the last two days being seeded. Hopefully, better weather for the next few weeks.
