Last Saturday’s golf event at Stanthorpe was a stableford event sponsored by club member, Simon Shannon. Simon had the winning score of the day ,43 points. He decided to exclude himself from the prizes, handing them down to the next best scores. The club thanks Simon for the prizes of the day and for the generous gesture with the prizes of the day. Luckily, Simon did receive a run down prize as well as a win in the club raffle at the end of the day,

Visitors to the club for the Easter event featured in winning list with Will Lathrope (Blackwater GC) accepting the main prize with 41 points and Jamie Stuart (Carbrook GC) collecting runner up with 40 points. Jamie also left with the eagle towel for his effort at the par 5, 11th hole, in the hole in three. The run down went to 37 points and better for a trophy.

In the ladies event, Lisa Stuart continued her run of wins after returning the best score of 37 points. One point back on 36 was Trish Fittock who left with the runner up prize. A similar result to a fortnight ago when the same result occurred, although that time by the countback. The ladies run down went to Kay Webb (32 pts) and Linda Kelly (31pts).

For the day to proceed, we were required to follow some new rules and protocols for Covid. Members and visitors to the club are thanked for observing these conditions and ensuring the day went ahead. Any change to those procedures will be notified to members or displayed on the notices at the club.

Next Saturday is the April monthly medal and putting competition, another chance for members to qualify for the Medal of Medallists in November. The day will be sponsored by club member, Richard Reardon, and he has promised that at least one case of tomatoes will be on offer. Tee off from 1130 am. and the time sheet is on the board.
