A Canadian foursome was played last Saturday with the winners having their names added to the long list of previous winners for the Howard and Sons cups. Sponsored by Mitre 10, this event is usually closely contested and provides an interesting challenge to the stylised alternate hit format.

The last team to finish came out first, that being the team of Brady Morant and Darryl Boekholt with a nett score of 661/4. In second place was the team of Ian Harvey and Santo Cavallaro on 68 1/8.

The ladies Canadian foursomes gave the win to Nikki Waterworth and Annelle Batterham. Runner up was the team of Edith Stewart and Shaneen McLellan who were a few shots away.

Men’s pin shots were won by Mark Hendry at 3 and 12 and Scott Constable at 17. No ladies at 3 but Linda and Sandra collected 12 and Helen and Kay were best at 17.

Pro-pins went to Mick O’Brien at 1/10, Rino Piovesan at 5/14 and Hayden Smith at 9/18.

In the run down, a ball each to Hayden Smith and Travis Burton, Mark Hendry and Richard Reardon and for the ladies, Lorraine Evans and Trish Fittock.

Next Sunday is the club’s mixed foursomes championships teeing off from 9.30am after Sporters. Time sheet is on the board.

The club’s Open weekend is fast approaching and the time sheet is filling fast. To avoid missing out, get names on the time sheet at the club ASAP.
