Competition last Saturday was the end of month medley 4BBB stableford. A good field turned up for the day and the event was sponsored by the Stanthorpe RSL Sub Branch who we thank for the providing the incentives on the ANZAC weekend. Special thanks to Tom Page who represented the Sub Branch and presented the prizes to the winners.
The team of Richard Reardon and Mark Hendry returned the winning score of 44 points. Both players managed to complement the others play, no holes left without a score. They recorded 23 points for the outward nine and back in 21 for the score.
A score of 43 points was returned by two teams, with the countback going in favour of Keith Allen and Mick O’Brien over Scott Constable and Ivan Juriss. Both teams scores were evenly matched however, Scott and Ivan settled for a run down.
Also in the run down were teams with 42 points and included Linda Kelly and Aaron Simmers, Keith Barnett and Ken Rossington, Mark Hendry and Racheal Hendry and Lyle Bryant and Barry Hughes.
Shaneen and Eric McLellan collected the final prize of the day, the NAGA. Both players have been on a holiday and house sitting adventure of late and might need a few more games to get back into proper form. Shaneen did well for the team with 21 points of their 31 point total, so a case for Shaneen doing some coaching on Eric’s game might be in order.
Next weekend is a major weekend of golf, a 4BBB medley stableford on Saturday sponsored by Jeff and Biz Ihle. They, and some 30 players from Kilcoy, will be at Stanthorpe for the two days of golf. Sunday’s 3 ball ambrose is sponsored by Black Toyota of Warwick, courtesy of Rob Reeves. Saturday’s time sheet is almost full for the afternoon play but still some places left in the morning session. Sunday’s card is also almost full with space for two more teams at the time of writing. Both days will be a shot gun start with Saturday at 12 noon and Sunday at 9.00 am. Players should be registered 30 minutes before tee off time.
