The penultimate game for this year was a single stroke sponsored by club member, Len Leigh. Again, the hot and dry conditions made play difficult but perseverance was a must to get to a cool and refreshing drink at the end of play.
Tod Beckett was been showing some good form of late, particularly in Friday chook runs. He managed to keep that form to return a nett 66 and win the day. A countback was needed to give runner up to Angelo Maugeri ahead of Brendan Barker, both on nett 68.
The ladies event was won by Shaneen McLellan with an impressive nett 72 for the day. Shaneen attributed her win partly to some playing tips provided to her by fellow member, Debbie Wilmot. Trish Fittock was next best with nett 78.
Thanks to Len and to Pauline for presenting the trophies at the end of the day.
Matt Waterworth held the pin at 3, Mick O’Brien at 12 and Brendan Barker at 17. Racheal Hendry collected the ladies pin at 3 and the approach at 17. Trish Fittock had best approach at 12. Ian Anderson collected the pro-pin at 1/10, Angelo Maugeri at 5/14 and Brendan Barker at 9/18.
Run down went to nett 69 for the men and nett 79 for the ladies.
Next Saturday is the last club event for 2019, a single stableford sponsored by Luke Reardon. No doubt there will be new clubs, new balls and new attire appearing after Xmas. Tee off from 11.30 am and the time sheet is on the board.
