Medal of Medallists winners were decided with qualifiers from medal events over the last twelve months playing off for the honour. The men’s winner was February qualifier, Michael Thompson, after returning a nett 73 to claim the Roy Carnell memorial trophy sponsored by the Carnell family.
Nikki Waterworth was the winner of the ladies event with a nett 72 on the day and a countback with Lyn Ludlow on the same score. Nikki received the ladies Medallist prize which was sponsored by Tom and Trish Fittock.
The day was also the first qualifying medal event for the next year, the win going to junior golfer, Matt Burgess, with nett 65. Runner up went to Tod Beckett with nett 68. Nikki Waterworth also collected the ladies medal with her nett 72, again after the countback. Jennifer Sparkes produced a good round to claim ladies’ runner up. Appreciation to Howard and Adele Poole of Poole’s Produce for sponsoring the first medal day of the new season.
Gross scores won by Scott Constable (72) and Nikki Waterworth (88) and best putting to Ian Pickering for the men and Nikki Waterworth for the ladies.
Keith Allen held the pin at 3, Matt Waterworth at 12 and Wes Smith at 17. Margie Locke had best approach at 12 and Nikki Waterworth held 17.
Pro-pins were won by Kev Rowling at 1/10, Ian Henderson at 5/14 and Ian Harvey at 9/18. Another award goes to Nikki Waterworth who recorded an eagle at the 13th hole, a par 5.
Men’s rundown went to nett 73 and ladies’ rundown went to nett 75.
Stanthorpe will be hosting Vets mixed 4BBB stableford on Monday 18 Nov and a time sheet is on the inside notice board. A time sheet for the Boxing Day Classic has also been posted on the inside notice board and several names have already been entered.
Next Saturday is the M&D Auto Golf Day, a single stableford sponsored by M&D Auto. Time sheet for the event is also at the club house. Intending players are urged to get their names entered quickly as the time sheet for this day usually fills up quickly.
