An individual stroke event was held at Stanthorpe last Saturday and was sponsored by the greenkeeper, Bill Pyne. Thanks to Bill for putting on the prizes for the day, they were greatly appreciated particularly by the winners.

Club captain, Richard Reardon, had been on vacation the last week and obviously fine tuned his game, returning the best score of the day, a nett 67, to claim first prize in the men’s competition. His front nine and back nine were equally scored, 39 out and 39 home which is a fairly consistent round.

Runner up was Ian Henderson who was 2 shots back on nett 70. Ian issued a warning for next weeks game after his run down the prior week to runner up this week, only one more place to reach. Good luck, Ian, hope you are successful.

In the run down, Peter Gibney (71), Trevor Ludlow (72) and Brady Morant (72) each collected a packet for their effort.

In the ladies competition, Lyn Ludlow had the best score of nett 74 on the day. A solid front nine put Lyn in a good position to win the day. One stroke back on nett 75 was Lorraine Evans who secured runner up. Lorraine has been fairly consistent over the last month and has regularly been in the prize winner’s list and not surprising if she goes one place better fairly soon. Neta Thouard needed the countback to take the ladies’ run down prize with nett 76.

Next week is the end of month medley 4BBB stableford. Time sheet is at the clubhouse and a reminder to have names listed prior to the event.

Championships will be held in August with the time sheet for the first round at the clubhouse. The event will be held over two weekends, Saturday at the usual time and Sunday after Sporter’s golf.
