The last club event for the year was played last Saturday, the December monthly medal and putting competition replay from a washout a few weeks ago. Our sponsor for the day was Luke Reardon who unfortunately could not be present as he is still overseas. He was ably represented by his father, Richard Reardon who presented the winners with their trophies.
In the men's event, Barry Jones took the honours with a nett 69. His front nine set up a good round with 42 strokes out and a steady back nine for the win. Also, good to see Barry drop his handicap. Runner up went to a countback with Tod Beckett getting the nod with nett 72. Best gross round on the day came from Matt Waterworth with 78. Best putting of 27 shared between Nathan Stibbard, Greg Fraser and Mick O'Brien.
The ladies event was won by Nikki Waterworth after a three way countback with a nett 79, runner up going to Linda Kelly on the same score. Marie Cook, also on nett 79, had the lowest gross score of 93. Best putting for the ladies was from Mandy Benussi with 32 putts for the round.
Men's pin shots were claimed by Scott Constable at 3, Todd Sutherland at 12 and Matt Waterworth at 17. Ladies pins went to Nikki Waterworth at 3 and 17 and ladies' captain, Annelle Batterham collected at 12. Pro-pins went to Tod Beckett at 1/10, Mark Hendry at 5/14 and Nathan Stibbard at 9/18. Featured in the run down were Todd Sutherland, Mark Hendry, Nathan Stibbard, Richard Reardon and Marie Cook.
The next club event will be held on Saturday 1 January and will be a 2 ball ambrose starting with a shotgun start at 9.30 am. Our sponsor for this event is Alex Vale and we hope he is able ro travel to be in tanthorpe for the day.
Apart from that event, numbers for the Boxing Day Classic are growing, the event being a rhree ball ambrose sponsored by Michael Hancock, Tony Herman and Wes Smith Building. Time sheet for both events are a the club.
