The rain last weekend was very welcome and much needed but it did have an impact on the day’s scheduled golf. What was hoped to be the Heritage Bank sponsored golf day to raise funds for breast cancer research had to be postponed for another time.

Instead, the golfers who did turn out played a club sponsored medley 4BBB stableford. Those who withstood the showers for the first three holes then enjoyed a pleasant afternoon for their round.

Mark Hendry and Rino Piovesan returned the best score of 45 to win the day. In second place was the team of Brendan Barker and Greg Fraser, one shot back with 44 points.

Len Leigh held the pin shot at 3 and Keith Jones at 12. Nikki Waterworth held ladies’ approach at 12 and Lyn Ludlow had best approach at 17. Pro-pins were won by Kev Rowling at 1/10, Mark Hendry at 5/14 and Matt Waterworth at 9/18.

The run down balls went to Ron Batterham and Scott Constable with 43 points and Rod Werner and Kev Rowling with 41 points.

The club’s Open weekend is fast approaching. There are still spots available for Saturday’s fourball event but the Sunday single event is full. At this stage, names are being taken as reserves and will enter the field if a vacancy arises. Again, first in gets best option.

Next Saturday will be a single stableford for those not attending the race meeting on the same day. Sponsor for the event is club member, Lorraine Evans. Tee off from 11.30 am and the time sheet is on the board at the club.
