Although the course was extremely wet from the continued mid-week rain we finally got a Saturday Competition completed without any interference from rain.
Last Saturday was an Individual Stable sponsored by Aqua Rural Supplies and the gents winner was one of the Club’s more senior members Lyle Bryant who defied the conditions scoring 39 points.
Lyle won on a countback from Matt Waterworth. Matt had an excellent 1 over par round.
Lyle will be pleased to know the handicapper has made the necessary reduction to his handicap.
For the ladies Neta Thouard, returning from an extended absence, recorded 31 points to win with Fiona Kelly, 30 points, the runner up.
Matt had a day out winning the pin shot on 3, the approach on 5/14 and the birdies nest on 5. Mick O’Brien won the pin shot on 12 and Eric Ree on 17. The approach winner on 1/10 was Barry Hughes and on 9/18 Scott Constable. Rundown went to Darrell Boekholt, Richie Reardon and Mick O’Brien.
For the ladies Linda Kelly won the pin shot on 3 and Mei Bell won the approaches on 12 and 17. Margie Locke got the rundown.
The sponsor provided a trophy for most use of the course which was collected by Terry Rosenbrock.
Next Saturday is an Individual stroke and Monthly Medal which has been reprogrammed as the original day was rained out. Sponsor is Luke Reardon and the time sheet is in the usual place at the Club.
Members are reminded there will be a 2 person Ambrose on New Years Day with a shotgun start at the earlier time of 9.30am and the timesheet will be available from Saturday 18th December.
