The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. Saturday the 3rd of August was a perfect day for golf, and it had all the drama of a Western movie. Jason Bacon driving the ball halfway to Warwick – ‘Good’. Max Hunter’s chipping – ‘Bad’ and Richard Reardon’s hooking – ‘Ugly’.

A good day was had by all, particularly the women’s winners, Helen Jones, Lynette Ludlow with run downs to Mei Bell and Lisa Stuart. Pin shots to Nikki Waterworth and Lisa Stuart. Every Western Movie has to have a sharpshooter and that went to Nikki Waterworth for the putting.

A good Western Movie needs some ‘Young Guns’ – congratulations to Matt Burgess and runner up Hamish Adam. However, a good Western will have a wise old man with a ‘steady hand’ – and our wise old sharpshooter for the day’s putting was none other than Keith Allen. You’re our hero Keith! Pin Shots to Hamish Adam, Barry Jones, Scott Constable, Alan Walker and Harry Day. The club welcomes Harry as a new member and looks forward to many happy rounds with him.

The day was made so successful and pleasurable because of the generous sponsor, GO VITA. Arguably the best coffee and latte's in town. The vice-captain made a point of checking it out for himself. We are grateful to John Bylicki and Go Vita for the day’s golf. The vice-captain searched the Go Vita shelves for a pill to improve golf. Sadly, nothing yet.

Golfers are reminded that Sunday 18 is the Bendigo Bank Foursomes starting at 9:30am so please get you team registered. Next Saturday the 10th of August will be sponsored by the Brass-Monkey Brewery and I’m sure we can all drink to that!

The Member's draw was also done, with it jackpotting to $80 on the 10th of August.
