A strong field of 58 golfers set out on Saturday 3rd to compete in the first event for 2026 which was the January Monthly Medal and the 1st Round of the Foundation Cup in warm and what turned out to be wet conditions.

The course is starting to show the effects of the dry weather with some dry areas on the fairways but overall is still in very good condition and this showed in the scoring which

was equally good.

The event was generously sponsored by member Ian Pickering and we thank Ian

for his generous support.

The men’s winner was up and coming Junior Levi Fittock who won with an amazing 61 nett. Scott Constable came in second with an excellent 65 nett. Scott had a great day and

also won the best gross with an incredible 67 off the stick which is 5 under par. Least putts was won by Brent Irwin with 24 putts.

Men’s pin shots went to Ivan Juriss on 3, Raymond Adams on 12 and Alan Bignell on 17. Some great approaches were won by Casey Leotta (1/10), Keith Jones (5/14) and Raymond Adams on (9/18).

In the Ladies event first place went to Sandra Ellis with an excellent 67 nett followed by Filomena Silver with 70 nett. Lisa Stuart won the best gross and also the least putts (26). Pin shots were won by Trish Fittock on 12 and Lisa Stuart on 17. Approach shots were picked up by Filomena on 2/11 and Lynette Ludlow on 7/16.

Congratulations to all our winners and to everyone who participated in the day. Next weekend is a Single Stroke event and the 2nd round of the Foundation Cup sponsored by President Len Leigh.
