Keith Barnett took first place in last Saturday’s Stableford event after returning 37 points for the round. His front nine was steady but 22 points were added in the back nine for the win.
Mark Hendry collected runner up prize with 36 points, but a costly wash at the 14th hole after someone in their group teed off from the wrong spot.
The ladies event went to a countback after Annelle Batterham and Kay Webb both scored 34 points. Annelle’s better back nine put her in first place with Kay settling for runner up.
Appreciation to Keith and Helen Jones for sponsoring the day’s competition and supplying the prizes.
Men’s pin shots were won by David Burgess at 3, Scott Constable at 12 and Keith Barnett at 17. Ladies pins went to Lyn Ludlow at 3, Neta Thouard at 12 and Lisa Stuart at 17. Nathan Stibbard collected pro-pins at 1/10 and 5/14 and Barry Jones at 9/18.
The men’s run down went to 33 points and better and the ladies’ run down went to 30 and better.
Next Saturday is an individual Stableford with play for the Finch Cup. The day will be sponsored by Tom and Trish Fittock. Trish is out injured for a while due to a work related injury. We wish a Trish a quick and successful recovery and hope to see her on the course as soon as possible.
