Twenty-two teams competed in the Boxing Day classic event held at Stanthorpe this year. Again, the day sponsored by Rugby League identities, Wes Smith, Tony Herman and Michael Hancock, proved a popular competition. The event also raised funds for both the golf club and the Stanthorpe Rugby League club.
Winning team consisted of Hayden Smith, Travis Burton and Michael O’Keefe, three young golfers who can hit the ball a very long way. Two shots further back in second place was the team of Brendan Barker, Jason Bacon and David McPaul, also some big hitters. The run down went to the Reardon team, Richard, Luke and Nathan who were one shot further back.
Brendan Barker held the pin shot at 3, R. Repo at 12 and Casey Leotta at 17.
The long drive was won by Grant Howard.
